MSF is the radio signal which broadcasts the
national time standard for the UK. Transmission is 24 hours a
day, and the carrier frequency is maintained at 60 kHz.
The MSF transmitter at Rugby is at latitude 52° 22' N, and
longitude 1° 11' W.
The signal provides a field strength
exceeding 100 µV/m throughout the UK,
and it can be
satisfactorily received throughout much of north and west
Europe.
